About Iowa Digital Engagement and Learning (IDEAL)

IDEAL provides a variety of resources for students working on digital projects such as videos, podcasts, infographics, animations, and even PowerPoints. 

• The IDEAL Media Studio has Mac and PC computers with a wide range of editing software available for students to use when creating, editing or reviewing digital projects.
• One-on-one assistance is available with our undergraduate Media Tutors at the IDEAL Media Studio. Students can schedule one-on-one appoints with a Media Tutor by emailing ideal@uiowa.edu, but are also welcome to stop by the studio as needed without an appointment. We also offer "walk-in" virtual tutoring via Zoom! Visit our website to learn more and access the Zoom link.
• A variety of media equipment is available for students working on digital projects including recorders, cameras, microphones and more. Visit https://ideal.uiowa.edu/ to reserve equipment or drop by the IDEAL Media Studio in 108 EPB.

What to Expect

Walk-in tutoring is available for students. IDEAL provides guidance and support on the use of digital equipment, as well as for planning, production, and post-production work. Consultants can help with anything from making a better PowerPoint to editing a video to creating a website—if it involves composing with digital media, then IDEAL can help.
