Sessions are held Sunday - Friday from August 30th - December 11th. There will be no sessions over Labor Day weekend, during fall break, or throughout finals week.

About the CSI

The Center for Supplemental Instruction (CSI) offers Supplemental Instruction for undergraduates at the University of Iowa. Supplemental Instruction (SI) is offered for a variety of courses. All of the sessions are free. 

SI sessions will be offered in-person in the CSI on the first floor of the Main Library for the Fall 2026 semester, except for the following courses, which are offered in the location noted below:

Schedule of Sessions

Sessions begin on Sunday, August 30, 2026, and go through Friday, December 11, 2026. There will be no sessions over Labor Day weekend (Sunday, September 6th & Monday, September 7th) during fall break (Sunday, November 22nd – Sunday, November 29th) or throughout finals week (Sunday, December 13th – Friday, December 18th). The full SI session schedule can be downloaded below! SI session days & times for individual courses can be found on each course's SI page within Tutor Iowa (visit the SI Tutor Iowa Page).

What to Expect

All students sign in before their SI session. We don't share your information with anyone. SI Sessions are led and facilitated by an SI Leader - a fellow undergraduate student with proven success in the subject area. When you are in an SI session, you will work through activities with other students to help you better understand the material. You will also learn study strategies to help you in the course!

How to Prepare

Bring your notes for the course and any other materials that you think will be helpful for you to have during an SI session.
