Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a free resource that helps you figure out how to be successful in your course. You’ll meet with a fellow student (the SI Leader) who did well in the course. The SI leader will facilitate activities to help you better understand the course material and how to study smarter. You will compare notes with other students, get organized, and predict and prepare for test questions. The leader attends all class lectures and takes notes, so you can be sure that your leader knows what’s going on in your class and is working with the professor. The sessions are informal, and you can attend as many sessions as you like.
The ARC will remain closed for the Fall 2020 semester. We will offer Supplemental Instruction sessions using Zoom – an online platform for video & audio conferencing. Sessions begin on Sunday, August 30, 2020 and go through Friday, December 11, 2020. There will be no sessions on Sunday, September 6th & Monday, September 7th, over Fall Break (November 22 - November 29), and during finals week. The full SI session schedule can be accessed from the ARC website or you can click here for a printable copy of the full Fall 2020 schedule. The Zoom links for each session can be found on each course's SI page within Tutor Iowa.
